CHARLOTTE, N.C.--It is that time of year for travel and some are choosing to do it by bus. On Saturday, the North Carolina Highway Patrol held inspections at Carowinds of charter buses in an effort to keep passengers safe.

Press Club of Southeast Texas honors newsmakers The Examiner receives top newspaper honors
BEAUMONT ?The Press Club of Southeast Texas honored Brad Brown and Steve Forman as Newsmakers of the Year Friday (June 6, 2008) for their efforts in securing legislation to require seat belts on buses in Texas after a tragic bus accident left two West Brook High School students dead and many more injured.
